I’ve loved working with John Groves over recent weeks on his new website, branding and online strategy. John is a leader at Hope Church Winchester with a strong national and international audience built over many years.
The goal was to develop a central online location to house a growing library of content and resources.
At it’s core the website centres around a blog. As with all my websites, it is responsive for mobile, tablet or desktop. The website opens up with fullpage headline banners and twitter feed before leading into the latest blog posts. There is Google calendar integration, Mailchimp email subscription and contact form to reduce spam. This website aims blends an elegant and classic style with a relaxed and personal feel.
John loves walking in the British countryside, reading books and writing. I was keen to draw out his personality so it was important it reflect something of this in his branding. John loves to write by hand so we chose a handwriten style logo along with a classic serif font for heading text like some of the old books he enjoys reading. The mix of natural colours and scenic photography depict John’s love of outdoor walking with his wife and friends.
We also setup and branded a new facebook page, his existing twitter account and new mailchimp email templates. Future work and aspirations are to include print, audio and video content, and both on/offpage search engine optimisation.
